5 of Iceland's most underrated places to visit

We all know that Iceland is a beautiful country. Everyone would like to visit the Black sand beach, Reykjavik or the Blue Lagoon. But there are many beautiful places that very little of people know they exist.
The first place is the Hofsós swimming pool. You might think it's a normal outdoor swimming pool. Nothing could be more wrong! It is located in a small village Hofsós. The water is being geothermally-heated up. The pool flows straight into the North Atlantic Fjord. The magical views will make you think you're in a different world.

The next underrated worth seeing place are the Drangsnes Hot Tubs. They are located in a small fishing town of DrangsnesWhat is so special about them, you may ask. Well, they are three small geothermal hot tubs. You can enjoy the unforgettable views while sitting in the cold, medium or hot water-according to your preferences.

The next place is the Petra's Stone and Mineral Collection. This place isn't about beautiful views of the island but more about a little-known collection in a small village. This intriguing place contains thousands of rocks and in the backyard. This beautiful museum started just as a hobby!

The next place I'd like to write about is the Bókakaffið Coffe Book Shop. It's really cosy! When you're really tired with travelling all over the island you come and relax here. It is located only 40 minutes from Reykjavik. The bookstore owns over 25.000 new and used titles covering a wide array of all genres. The store is obviously located in Iceland but it contains many books written in English and other languages.

The last underrated place in Iceland I'd like to talk about is the Stykkishólmur Church. Even if you're not christian, I really recommend seeing this place because of it's unique architecture. It was designed by Jón Haraldsson and opened in 1990. Inside the church you can find thousands of suspending lights across the ceiling and a painting of Madonna and a child. The church has great acoustics and many concerts throughout the year!

  1. The church looks really interesting, as if inspired by Icelandic volcanoes.
